7:30am: Have Breakfast at Quiri peninsular Bar & Restaurant. Our tour guide will help you to prepare everything you need for whole day trekking.
8:30am: Let's start the journey. In the morning we will walk aground the Tay village. From the city center of Ha Giang, following the direction towards the Thanh Thuy International Border Gate, about 5 km away, the village of Tha (in Phuong Do commune, Ha Giang city) emerges with its traditional, pristine, and captivating beauty. It is a village of the Tay ethnic people. In addition to the beautiful natural landscapes, Tha village also captivates tourists with its unique traditional culture, which is preserved almost intact by the local residents. Notably, the charming stilt houses stand out, leaning against the mountainside. More than 100 stilt houses in Tha village encapsulate distinctive cultural values. These houses are constructed with sturdy wooden frames, boasting spacious utility areas, and are divided into different sections, each serving a specific purpose. The central section is designated for ancestral altars, while the auxiliary sections are used for daily activities and storage.
- The entire group will visit the waterfall at the end of the village. We will spend an hour for sightseeing and swimming at the waterfall, or enjoying the scenic landscape for photography.
10:00am: We will visit and explore the tea plantation area of the Dzao people, observing their daily life and witnessing the harvesting of premium tea varieties. Afterwards, we will have the opportunity to observe the traditional process employed by the ethnic community in utilizing it.
- Introducing the method of preserving tea in bamboo tubes and nứa (a type of bamboo), followed by roasting over an open flame.
The local residents explained that the Dao people choose the shan tuyet tree to make tea, with ancient tea trees that are thousands of years old thriving on the peaks of Tay Con Linh mountain. "In the past, when preservation technology wasn't advanced, the Dao people used to preserve tea by wrapping it tightly in banana leaves or dong leaves. They later realized that this preservation method made the tea spoil quickly and develop an unpleasant odor." The Dao people were used to preserving rice in bamboo tubes for an extended period, so they also tried putting tea leaves in nứa tubes and brought them up to the kitchen loft to see what happened. They discovered that the tea acquired a unique flavor and distinct aroma, lasting for several years without molding. From then on, the Dao people passed down this method to one another.
11:30: The entire group will continue moving up to the mountain peak, passing through the hills covered with coconut trees. We will have the opportunity to admire the terraced rice fields in perfect harmony and lush greenery. The interwoven terraced hills create a truly magnificent and breathtaking landscape.
12:30: Arrive to The Dao village. Restrooms and resting areas are available. Here, we will take a break at a local resident's house to experience their lifestyle, culture, and cuisine. The indigenous family will have prepared meals for us, cooked by the family themselves using local ingredients.( We can also guide you in preparing and cooking local dishes.
13:00: Have Lunch with local family.
14:30: Say goodbye to the family and continue our journey back to the city, enjoying the magnificent scenery along the way.
15:30: Visiting Khuoi My village of Dao, what first impressed was the sight of the rooftops of the villagers' houses, covered in green moss-covered tiles, creating a sense of antiquity, mystery, and extraordinary allure.By observing the layers of moss, one can estimate the age of the house. Nowadays, many households in the village have replaced thatched roofs with red metal ones, but most of the houses in the village still maintain the characteristic mossy hue, serving as a reminder of an ancient cultural feature in the highlands. Another detail that left an impression on me was that most of the Dao ethnic people's houses in Khuoi My have a small pond in front to store spring water, which they utilize for watering plants and raising fish.
16:00: Keep going down to the city you will have 2 opstion. Keep trekking down to the city about 1 hour or take a car pick up from our office to come back the city.
17:00: Arrive to the hostel take a rest and shower ( you can stay one more night for free room in our hostel ) or take a night bus to Ha Noi.
